Here is one of my earliest game ideas: Dark Legends, a PS4 exclusive 3-D fighter. I came up with this idea when I was still in high school.
Plus, there is a create-a-combo feature that works similarly to the Create-A-Trick feature from the Tony Hawk games. This option is only available in Practice Mode and can actually allow you to chain together certain attacks of your choosing before hitstun deterioration kicks in (also affects damage scaling).
Gameplay
Gameplay takes place on a 3-D plane. Each character has 2 punches and 2 kicks (similar to the Tekken/Mortal Kombat control scheme). Much like Tekken, combining certain buttons/directions, or performing a certain button sequence, results in a more powerful move. Dark Legends also features a Super Jump, in which you hold down the crouch button for a few seconds before jumping into the air, perfect for catching airborne opponents in an air combo (only possible in this super jump state). The height of the super jump depends on the character's weight.Plus, there is a create-a-combo feature that works similarly to the Create-A-Trick feature from the Tony Hawk games. (Sorry for the low quality)Ultima Games is back!
Hello, all. Sorry to keep you all starving for new Deviant Fighter content for years now. I just so happened to have lost the drive to keep continually posting stuff day in and day out, not to mention I was a minor player in the whole Vic Mignogna shit over on Twitter that started a little over five years ago. By the way, we're coming around to a very happy ending on that front. But I'm back now, and I've actually been doing some very heft cooking on an idea I've been building up to for almost half a year now. It's a story I got inspired to write after playing some very niche fighting games and diving deep into their lore, and I wanted to deliver a narrative along the levels of that kinda scope. As a big plus, it's also a nod to a fighting game idea that was misattributed to me known as 'The Fallen Illuminati'. After countless retooling and headcanon revisions, I finally decided on a proper title and tone. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you... Story For the last thirty years, the
Introducing Hyperstrike
Phew. After an arduous process, I can finally say that Hyperstrike is now complete. Okay, I'll admit. I originally meant for the name Hypercharge to be a placeholder, but since my brain farted out and couldn't come up with something better, Hyperstrike is what I'm sticking with. And thanks to the contributions of character ideas from users of DeviantArt and beyond, a good chunk of whom include some of my DA friends, I was able to come up with a semblance of a plot. Plot In this expansive universe, there exists a parallel world where superhumans and normal humans exist in harmony. Despite there being an active police force, vigilantism is legal in the town of Shochan, which means crime has to sleep with one eye open if at all. But where is all this crime coming from? Aside from the usual burglars and rapists and murderers, that is. That is all thanks to the out of control experiments by renowned scientist Elijah Cinge. In the public eye, Cinge is a beloved public figure on Shochan, but
A fun little creative experiment
The past few years have seen me recently experience quirky fighting games that have been out for years that I haven't played until now. The release of Capcom Fighting Collection allowed me to experience Darkstalkers for the first time, and Thorgi Arcade's video on BlazBlue led to me buying Centralfiction for the Switch and although I am a bit overwhelmed by how specials are performed as well as the Drive ability being key to some of them (plus the Astral Heats), I really love beating up the CPU with my terrible skills. You know what those two franchises have in common, though? Their cast of characters varies WILDLY from actual humanoids to inhuman creatures. The best part? A good chunk of the characters from those series, particularly from their premiere games, we're created by other people within the development team. You see where I'm going with this, right? Playing BlazBlue Centralfiction and Vampire Savior and knowing how the rosters for their very first games were thought up, I
Heavy Hitters 3 special edit teams
Okay, I know this is kinda outta left field, but I may be hinting at something huge here that I have secretly been putting together throughout this year, but am not fully complete with it. Still need to put finishing touches on it. But anyways, if you need a refresher of HH3's roster, here it is: https://www.deviantart.com/comicreadinggamer/gallery/62013591/Heavy-Hitters-3 What I did was FINALLY come up with special edit teams, something wanted to do while working on the game itself years back. Here were my self-imposed stipulations: I could only do characters in established teams, so the bosses and DLC characters did not qualify. Now, not every character in the base roster was used (KOF XIV didn't use every charavter for their special edit teams either, so I'm not alone in this), but I hope you enjoy the special teams you put together for HH3, and if you have your own ideas, feel free to comment them to me down below.
